How to export checks deposited into an account?

I am trying to export a csv file of all the checks (only checks) that were deposited into a particular bank account so I can import it into another quickbooks account. What is the best way to do this?

I need it broken down by check, not by deposit, as we usually deposited more then one check at a time.

Thank you

You need a 3rd party app to do so.

How to export checks deposited into an account?

Hi there, @davidmatyas. I'm here to help export all of the checks deposited into a bank account and import them to another QuickBooks account.

You can export a Deposit Detail report for all of the checks to an Excel file. Then, manually enter the data into an IIF file so you can import it into another QuickBook account. To export a report, here's how:

  1. Go to the Reports menu, then select Banking and choose Deposit Detail report.
  2. Choose the reporting date of the report you want to view.
  3. Click Customize Report. Then, filter the report to view the checks for the specific bank account.
  4. Select OK once done.
  5. Click the Excel drop-down, then select Create New Worksheet.

Once done, you can enter the data manually. Then, import it to your other QuickBooks account. Let me guide you on how.

  1. Go to the File menu, then select Utilities.
  2. Select Import, then choose Import IIF.
  3. Choose the IIF file you want to import, then select Open.
  4. Click OK to confirm the import.

I'm adding this article for more guidance: Export, import, and edit IIF files.

In addition, you can also look for a third-party app as suggested by Fiat Lux - ASIA above.

You may also want to run and customize reports in QuickBooks Desktop. This will help you focus on the information you want to see.

Don't hesitate to come back to this post if you need more help exporting and importing transactions. Have a good one!

What is the list that would have the deposited checks broken down by checks?

How to export checks deposited into an account?

Hello David.

I understand you want to export a CSV file containing all checks deposited into a particular account. There isn't currently a list of deposited checks broken down by check.

As a workaround, run a Deposit Detail and Check Detail report. Then, you can export them to Excel. From there, you can customize to get all the checks deposited to a specific account. You can also download CSV files of transactions that list all of the checks deposited to a particular account by logging in to your financial institution's website.

Once you have the files that list the information you need, you can look for a third-party app capable of converting an excel or CSV to an IIF file so you can import it to another QuickBooks account. Use this link to find one: QuickBooks apps.

After that, you can follow the steps provided by my colleague Mark_R to import the IIF file. For more details about the process, check out this article: Export, import, and edit IIF files.
