I’ll make sure you can import files from QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) to QuickBooks Online (QBO) seamlessly.

To start with, you’ll want to check out this article to learn how your financial records will be transferred from QBDT to QBO: Learn how features and data move from QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online

Afterward, get ready with your QBDT file and start moving them into QBO. You can follow the steps below to proceed:

  1. Sign in as an admin to the company file you need to import.
  2. Select Export Company File to QuickBooks Online under Company.
  3. Select Start your export.

Once done, let’s go to your QBO company file and import the data:

  1. Log in to your QuickBooks Online company as the administrator.
  2. Select Choose online company, then select the QuickBooks Online company that your company file should replace.
  3. Choose Continue.
  4. If you keep track of your inventory using QuickBooks Desktop:
  • Select Yes to import them, then type the as of date.
  • If you want to add additional items to QuickBooks Online later, choose No.

      5. In the text field, type Agree, and then click Replace.

      6. Select Yes, go ahead and replace the data, then select Replace.
