This is the absolute dumbest and sh*ttiest thing that QB could possibly ever do. But I’m willing to bet you’re clueless like every customer service rep I have encountered in my dealings with QB. Every rep has been wrong on everything and I have had to figure it out myself.
Afaik, we cannot import transactions into projects in QBO or other accounting applications in the same class as QBO. Projects (and inventory management) offer only limited functionality. If you need more features, having a third party app (e.g project management app) is the answer.

In the meantime, you'll want to enter your transactions one at a time. Also, QuickBooks downloads automatically the latest transactions once you connect your bank and credit card accounts.
