how to remove a connected bank account

I can help you disconnect a bank account in QuickBooks Online, jnaboulsi2002. I'll walk you through the steps below.

Beforehand, if you see a bank connection error, don't disconnect the account until you fix the online banking errors. If you do so, it might download duplicate transactions when you reconnect it.

Once ready, here’s how to disconnect an account from online banking:

  1. Go to Transactions, then Bank transactions.
  2. Choose the tile for the bank account.
  3. Select the pencil icon, then select Edit account info.
  4. Tick the Disconnect this account on save checkbox.
  5. Select Save and Close.

If you want to make accounts inactive from your chart of accounts, check out this article: Make an account inactive on your chart of accounts in QuickBooks Online.

Moreover, we have QuickBooks Live Expert Assisted that are always available to help you with best practices in setting up and making the most out of QuickBooks Online.
