How to use Online Banking, Connect Bank Accounts, and Review your Bank Feed in QuickBooks Online

Not having success adding my banking to Quickbooks for Mac Desktop.

I bank with a boutique bank and it isn't on the list, could this be my problem?

I downloaded a statement to my desktop, but I can't choose the file to import the statement to QB.

I can share some insights about the using, connecting, and reviewing processes of the Online Banking feature in QuickBooks for Mac Desktop.

 

If your financial institution isn't listed when setting up online banking, you will have to follow the recommendation below:

  1. If you have the “Select the financial institution” window open, click Cancel and reopen the window to refresh the list.
  2. Be sure your financial institution supports online banking with QuickBooks. To verify this, go to Banking Bank Feeds > Participating Financial Institutions.
  3. Check for typos in the name you entered.
  4. Be sure to look for the formal name of the bank. For example, the formal name of WaMu is Washington Mutual.
  5. Use the search field in the top right corner of the Online Banking Assistant.
  6. Be sure you have the most recent version of QuickBooks. To do that, choose QuickBooks > Check for QuickBooks Updates.
  7. QuickBooks updates the list of financial institutions once a day. To get to most recent list, quit QuickBooks and open it again. You must be online for the list to be updated.

You should be able to add your bank in QuickBooks after trying the steps above, studio321.

 

Otherwise, you will have to use the Web Connect feature to import your transaction. Please take note that the compatible file type is .qbo. For in-depth information, please refer to User's Guide for QB MAC and turn to page 162.
