I am importing credit card statements in CSV format but I would like them to go into their own Account name only option I have is to add them As older transactions to my other credit cards?

I'll give some overview about your concern, rdquake-gmail-co.

You can import transactions to the specific account if the bank is connected to online banking. If the account name is not connected, you can follow the steps below. Note: QuickBooks Self-Employed downloads the last 30 to 90 days of transactions, and in some cases up to a year.

  1. Go to the Gear > Bank accounts.
  2. Click the Connect another account button.
  3. Search for the account name and follow the on-screen instructions.

Please see this sample screenshot for a visual guide:

Once connected, you can start adding the older transactions.

Here's how:

  1. Go back to the Gear > Imports.
  2. Find the account name and click the Import older transactions link.
  3. Click the Browse button and find the file you downloaded from your bank. It's usually in your Downloads folder.
  4. Select the file and select Open to start the import.
  5. Review the column headers and data. Make sure the Date, Description, and Amount columns on the CSV match the columns and order in QuickBooks. The other column headers can be in any order.
  6. Hit Continue to complete the import.

You can read this article for reference: Add older transactions to QuickBooks Self-Employed.

Finally, review and categorize your transactions to put them in your accounts.

Please keep in touch with me here if you need any further assistance. I'll be more than happy to help you out again. Take care!

Yes I am familiar with your instructions as I've done that before with my other credit cards. but the last credit card I am trying to connect is not listed in this case. so because i cannot link my credit card account because it's not listed how do you import into there own account name instead of adding to an existing one

Thanks for getting back to us, rdquake-gmail-co.

If you want to import the credit card's CSV file to another or existing credit card in QuickBooks Self-Employed, you just do it the usual way you do it. You can use this link for reference: Manually import transactions into QuickBooks Self-Employed.

Note that it is not necessary to add new accounts in the Bank accounts section when importing CSV files. Once you've imported the file, you can already categorize the transactions. You can also refer to RenjolynC's response for more details.
