I am trying to import older transactions from my credit card, but my credit card statements are all in PDF, not CSV. Can quickbooks go back in and request old data?

Or can quickbooks view and scrape from PDFs?

Glad you came here for support, durlacher-sarah-.

Since the statements were in PDF's, you can use a third-party application to help convert PDF's into .CSV format.

Feel free to visit our QuickBooks Apps website to search for applications that suits your business needs. From there, you'll see a list of options which are highly recommended by most of our product engineers. Let me route you there by following the steps below:

  1. In your browser enter this link to access the site: https://apps.intuit.com/app/apps/home.
  2. In the Search field,  enter a keyword or category.

When you're done converting the transactions, you can then import them into QuickBooks Self-Employed.

Here’s how:

  1. On the left panel, choose Transactions.
  2. Click on the drop-down for Add transactions, then select Import transactions.
  3. From the Import transactions window, choose a bank and click Import older transactions.
  4. Follow the onscreen instructions and click Browse to upload your transaction.
  5. Click Open to start uploading the file.

For additional information about the import process, please see the following article: Add older transactions to QuickBooks Self-Employed.

Let me know if you need further assistance with any of these steps. Please know I’m here to help. Wishing you the best.
