I am using QB Online for the first time. My client has outstanding transactions from the prior year that cleared in current year. Not on reconciliation

Thank you, Fkroschel, for bringing this to our attention. I'm here to help you resolve your client's outstanding transactions that are not showing in the reconciliation window.

To start, there are several possible reasons why transactions are missing on your reconciliation page. Here are the following:

  • Some banks and credit card companies don't post transactions for download until later in the day or the next morning.
  • Some banks will show a transaction on their website but won't download the transaction until it is posted.
  • If the missing transactions are the most recent ones, wait at least 24 hours in case your bank doesn't make them available immediately.
  • Transactions are showing up on the For Review page but were not categorized or matched.
  • Transactions were manually reconciled in the register.

I recommend ensuring that your ending date and ending balance are accurate for when that transaction was cleared and included in that specific month. Also, review your opening balance and beginning balance. These are the possible causes of ending balance issues:

  • Someone entered an incorrect ending balance at the start of the reconciliation.
  • There are missing or duplicate transactions in QuickBooks.
  • Someone entered transactions into QuickBooks that haven't cleared your bank yet.

To check the ending balance that you've entered. Follow these steps:

  1. In your reconciliation window, select Edit info at the upper right.
  2. Review the Ending balance and Ending date.
  3. Check your bank statement and make edits as needed.
  4. When you're done, select Save.

If you have any follow-up questions regarding your client's outstanding transactions not showing in the reconciliation, feel free to ask me.  I'll assist you in any way possible, Fkroschel.
