I cannot connect to my bank. Are others having the same issue today?

I can feel the need to connect your bank account, angelaj470.

 

May I ask the name of your financial institution and whether you received any error messages so that I can verify and check for any open investigations or reported cases?

 

In the meantime, let's perform the following troubleshooting procedure to connect your bank account. You can start by accessing your account using an incognito window. Here are the shortcut keys:

 

  • Google Chrome, press CTRL + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: press CTRL + Shift + P
  • Safari: press Command + Shift + N

 

Once you're in, try to connect your bank account again. If it's already connected before, you can manually update it to refresh your bank connection. I'll show you how.

 

  1. Select Banking or Transactions from the sidebar menu.
  2. Go to the Banking tab.
  3. Choose the appropriate bank account.
  4. Hit Update.

 

Also, you can use different support browsers. If the issue persists, you can manually upload your bank transaction to bring them to QuickBooks Online. Check out this article for more details: Manually upload transactions into QuickBooks Online.

 

Once your bank transactions are inside QuickBooks, you can start the review process to ensure those transactions are matched and put on the correct accounts. Refer to this resource for detailed instructions: Categorize and match online bank transactions in QuickBooks Online.

YES!  I lost my connection.  When I try to click on the bank account to fix, it jumps to a screen that says I'm already connected.  What do I do now?  We use Independent Bank if that makes a difference.  I also have other companies that disconnected but I have no problem reconnecting them.

Hello Janet18, I understand how the bank connection is needed to be back right away.

 

I've checked here on my end and found that there isn't an ongoing issue about the Independent Bank connection in QuickBooks. No worries, I'm here to help you bring your bank data to QuickBooks. 

 

Let's start viewing your bank website to see if there are any alert, notification, or any security requirements that's needs your attention. If everything looks good, you can refresh the connection between your bank and QuickBooks. Here's how:

 

  1. Go to the Banking menu., 
  2. Within the Banking tab, highlight the Independent Bank and  select Update.

 

Otherwise, you need to update your bank information once you make changes from your bank website. If that's the case, let's proceed in the Step 3: Update your bank info in QuickBooks section to complete the process. Check this article to view the details: What to do if you get a bank error or can't download transactions in QuickBooks Online. This article also include solutions about specific bank errors.

 

If the same thing happens, you can disconnect and reconnect the bank account. Once you disconnect it, QuickBooks deletes transactions that still need to be categorized in the For Review tab. With that, I'd recommend categorizing them before doing it. Still, you can bring those transactions (not older than 90 days) once your reconnect the account .

I appreciate the email attempting to resolve the issue.  The screen with the bank accounts does not appear but but a second before another screen comes on that says Your Bank Connection is all set.  Therefore, I cannot click on the account to fix it as it is not letting my but jumping to the new screen.

Good news!   I was finally able to reconnect, the bank accounts and the Your Account is Connected screen both appeared and I was able to choose the account.  I guess it just needed to work itself out?
