I have accounts with two different banks, and neither can connect to QuickBooks. QB assistant and wiki are useless. Anyone know how to fix this?

The older of the two accounts is over a year old. The second is a few days old.

It isn't the kind of experience I'd like you to have, @dan-brandshepher.

I'm here to help you connect your two bank accounts to two different QuickBooks accounts.

Before doing so, I would like to know your bank's name to check if we have received reports about the same issue. Also, did you encounter any error message or code while connecting your bank account?

In the meantime, I recommend logging in to your QuickBooks Online account and connecting your bank accounts using a private browser. It's a good idea to check for issues brought on by a full cache when browsing anonymously because doing so prevents the cache from recording your browsing data. You may also try to use other browsers.

  • Chrome: Press Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox: Press Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: Press Command + Shift + N

If the steps don't work, you can use supported browsers as an alternative.

Meanwhile, you can manually upload your transactions to QuickBooks. You can browse through these articles for detailed instructions: Manually import transactions into QuickBooks Online.

For future reference, you can read these articles to help you set up bank rules and categorize transactions in QuickBooks Online:

Thanks for the thorough reply.

One update to my issue: my newest bank account has successfully conneccted to QuickBooks Online, and I no longer need help with that. This account is with Pinnacle Bank and the connectivity issues seem to have been related to time–I just needed to give it more time before full online banking and connectivity was available to my new account.

CBBC Bank is the bank I need help with.

My CBBC account has been disconnected for a long time, since April 1.

When I try to reconnect to my CBBC account via QuickBooks, I get the following error message:

Something unexpected happened and we couldn't connect to your bank.

Try signing in again, and check for typos and other errors. If that doesn't work, try signing in on the CBBC Bank site. (377)

Also, I can confirm that this is not a browser-related issue.

Thanks for your help!

Thanks for getting back to us and for the additional information about your concern, Dan. Let's work together to resolve this error so you can connect your bank successfully.

The error message indicates that QuickBooks Online (QBO) encountered an issue when connecting to your CBBC Bank account. The 377 error code is a general message suggesting something went wrong during the connection attempt.

To fix this, reconnect your bank and check for typos and other errors. If the issue persists, verify if there's an issue with your bank's website by signing in on the CBBC Bank site.

In the meantime, consider uploading your transaction manually in QuickBooks. Here's how:

  1. Sign in to your bank's website and export your bank transactions.
  2. In your QBO account, go to the Transactions menu.
  3. Select Bank transactions.
  4. From the Update drop-down, select File Upload.
  5. Click Browse and select the web-connect file from your bank.
  6. Follow the on-screen steps to map the data.

Check this guide for more details: Manually upload transactions.
