I have been trying to link our bank account & when it asks to email a bank verification code, I never get the code through to our email address (inbox or spam).

I tried using Safari and Chrome and I can enter our online banking username and password, but then it asks for a verification code. When I click the email address on file, QB says the code was sent, but it never appears in our inbox (or spam).

Have you encountered an Error 185? If so, please know that it indicates that your financial institution has implemented extra security measures, such as a security question or a one-time passcode, that you need to provide to proceed. It ensures that only authorized individuals can access the valuable assets and information of a bank or financial institution. 

 

If you haven't encountered an error, I recommend contacting your bank's support first to confirm whether it was sent through text or if the linked email address is accurate and matched.

I haven’t received any error code. It actually says the email has been sent, but it never appears in my inbox (or spam). 

I know that it isn’t the bank website because I tried logging in with a couple of other devices and servers (through the site directly) and it worked.
It asks if I want the code to come via email or call and I tried both (though QB it says both were sent) but nothing ever connects or comes through. 

I know it’s the correct email and phone number as well, because it shows the last couple of digits. 

I hope to figure it out soon!

I was in the phone with IT from my bank all afternoon yesterday, and they ultimately said they couldn’t help me because QB server was not actually sending the code. It didn’t even show and attempted log-in in their side, so there’s nothing they could physically do.

  3. Go to the Search tab, then select Contact Us.
