I have multiple accounts with Chase and would like to import transactions from all of them, but Quickbooks Online only allows me to connect one account at a time. Help!

It used to work just fine, but looks like there was some update to Quickbooks and now my cards are not syncing.

 

I have separate Personal and Business accounts with their own respective logins. Once I connect one of these, the other one loses connection.

Hi there, elseiver. I'll make sure you'll be able to import transactions in QuickBooks Online (QBO). 

 

One possible reason why your bank stopped syncing to QuickBooks issue is due to an outdated password or any other login credentials associated with your bank account.

 

To resolve this, you'll need to update the bank information by going to the Banking page.

 

After that, reconnect the account to QuickBooks.

 

Then, to ensure your transactions will be allocated to the correct categories and accounts in QuickBooks, you have to categorize them. The following are the links that will guide the process:

Unfortunately, expired password is not the case.

I have reconnected both accounts today (each with multiple credit cards and checking accounts), but as soon as I reconnect one of my Chase accounts (e.g. my Business account), the other one (e.g. my Personal account) gets disconnected.

All this used to work  just fine, it must be some recent development with software engineers at Intuit deciding to use bank ID as a key

Thank you for providing clarifications about your banking concern. We want to help you connect your bank to QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE), elseiver. 

 

Let's double-check if you connect your account set up correctly. Account set up in QuickBooks Online is based on the transactions downloaded. 

 

If transactions download to the individual accounts, connect the sub-accounts and not the parent one. QuickBooks won't let you connect both a parent account and its subaccounts.

I'm setting up my accounts correctly - the way they have been set up before.

I'm authenticating my accounts separately (again, I have personal account with its own Chase login and a business account with a separate Chase login)

 

If I start with my Business account connected and synced and add my personal account, I'm getting this (see attached screenshot).

...7906 is my business checking account. When I connect my personal Chase account, 7906 gets disconnected and Quickbooks can't reconcile it anymore and suggests that I mark it as closed.

This is a bug, there is no way the application can behave like this by design.

Since you've tried already the possible troubleshooting steps shared by my colleagues above yet you still unable to connect your Chase bank account to QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE). I recommend contacting your bank if there's an ongoing issue or update that's causing the issue. You can also reach out to our QuickBooks support team. That way, they they can securely look into your account and investigate further about the issue. Also, they can create a ticket for investigation in needed.

Here's how:

  1. At the tope menu bar click Assistance.
  2. Enter your Question.

Here's another way to contact support:
 

  1. Go to Help.
  2. Select Contact Us.
  3. Enter your concern, then select Let's talk.
  4. Choose a way to connect with us:

 

  • Start a chat with a support expert.
  • Get a callback from the next available expert.

Yeah, I'm going to contact QBO support.

 

The issue is not with Chase Bank - both of my accounts can be connected just fine. The issue is on the Quickbooks Online side - it is not longer capable of supporting TWO Chase accounts, it seems.

 

You don't seem to comprehend what the problem is and just throwing some scripted responses at me. May be another screenshot will help (see attachment)

For the record, solution was to:

1. Contact support, have a chat session with screen sharing

2. Capture data ranges for all involved accounts - from the oldest transaction to the newest

3. Following directions from support representative, delete Chase account in QBO

4. Add Chase business account

5. Add Chase personal account

6. Wait for the support rep to update categorization metadata so that all imported transactions are categorized the way they were originally.

I have been having the exact same issue and it is frustrating that the QB Team in this thread are not even understanding the root issue that is happening here.

I understand the context of this situation. However, I would like to know if you have already tried the alternative solutions provided by my colleagues in the thread. If not, please do so, and then we will be able to determine if the issue persists.

 

Please contact our support to investigate why your bank connection disconnects when another bank is connected.

 

Here's how:

 

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online company.
  2. Select Help (?).
  3. Select:
  • Start a chat with a support expert.
  • Get a callback from the next available expert.
  • Ask the community to get help from businesses like yours.

I have been having an almost identical issue.  For a short time both my Chase credit cards under one user name/login worked seamlessly and then...they did not.  I now can cannot one but not the other. Tried workarounds to no avail.

I recognize the importance of connecting your credit cards from Chase, PD75.

 

Firstly, May I know if you encountered an error message when you attempted to connect to the other account? This way, we can provide an accurate solution to your concern. In the meantime, since you can't link your other credit card, you can manually import your transactions

 

Thus, if you've tried all the solutions provided in the thread but still can't link your credit card, I recommend contacting our Customer Support Team to investigate the issue and provide a resolution. Here's how:

 

  1. Go to Help and click Contact Us.
  2. Enter "talk to a human" and select Continue.
  3. Choose a way to connect with us:

 

  • Have us call you - Get a call from a support expert.
  • Chat with us - Start a conversation with a support expert.
