Buy nowHello, katazzi-icloud-c.
I have a way to help you link the separate bank account that was created after establishing a connection in QuickBooks.
We can merge the newly created bank account with the existing one on the Chart of Accounts page. Here's how to do it:
We can still keep the existing bank connection in QuickBooks, so we don't have to worry about establishing a new connection at all.
If you'd like to learn more about the merging process, check out this article: Merge duplicate accounts, customers, and vendors in QuickBooks Online.
I'll also add that if your linked bank account has a different type than the one in QuickBooks, we're unable to merge it. We can manually transfer each transaction to correct the categorization, then inactivate the account if you don't need it anymore.
More details about account types are highlighted and explained here: Learn about account types and detail types in QuickBooks Online.
After merging and dealing with the separate bank account, we can start categorizing your transactions for your books.
When ready, start the regular reconciliation to close out the current accounting period.
You're more than welcome to post your replies here if you have questions about managing your bank records or running reports. I'll help you in just about anything in QuickBooks Online. I'll see you again soon.
Thank you for your response. However, I’ve decided to stop the bank feed and just download it monthly (which I’ve done in past with no problem). I want to keep my same current bank account and not merge. It’s getting too confusing. How do I delete this new bank account and the transactions it downloaded? Sorry for confusion. Thank you very much.
