I'm trying to sync a transaction from RAMP (the monthly payment). but I get a message: "The account "1001 BofNH Checking" is not set in the Home Currency.

My home currency is set to US dollars and all we do is in US dollars, so I don't know how to fix this.

Hello there, kingscrosschurch.

Let's work together to resolve the issue and ensure that your transactions sync to QuickBooks seamlessly.

To begin, let's navigate to the Chart of Accounts and verify that the account is set to your home currency, which should be USD. Follow the steps outlined below to do so:

  1. Click on the Gear icon.
  2. Select Chart of accounts under Your company.
  3. Find the account you're looking for.
  4. Check the Currency column.

Once you have confirmed that the account is set to your home currency, I recommend that you reach out to your third-party service provider for further assistance. They can help you successfully sync your transactions to QuickBooks.

For more info on using the Multicurrency feature, please refer to this article: Set up and use Multicurrency in QuickBooks Online.

Allow me to dive into the thread, kingscrosschurch.

Thank you for providing a screenshot to help us understand your concern better. We appreciate your effort. As my colleague has already given you the steps to set USD as your home currency in your chart of accounts (COA), I will assist you in locating the currency column in your COA.

But beforehand, you have to turn on multicurrency in Accounts and Settings to enable the multicurrency feature in QuickBooks to easily pay and receive payments in foreign currencies from customers, suppliers, or bank accounts that use a different currency than your home currency.

Once activated, you can add transactions in the foreign currency and QuickBooks will automatically handle all currency conversions for you. This makes it easy to keep track of your financial records and ensures that you're always up to date with your payments and financial reporting.

Here's how to locate Currency in COA:

  1. In the Transactions Tab
  2. Click Chart of Accounts
  3. At the upper right corner of your screen click Settings ⚙
  4. Under Settings columns, check Currency.

I'm trying to sync a transaction from RAMP (the monthly payment). but I get a message: "The account "1001 BofNH Checking" is not set in the Home Currency.

So we do not have multicurrency turned on, which might be why I can't see the currency column? This is what we see (attached).

I appreciate the additional information, kingscrosschurch.

Dealing with the difficulty of syncing your RAMP transactions to QuickBooks Online (QBO) must be challenging for you. I'm here to help direct you to the right support that can assist you promptly.

Before we move forward, let me provide some clarifications regarding your concern. You're correct in stating that the Currency column will not be displayed on the Chart of accounts page unless the Multicurrency function is activated.

The data we get relies on what RAMP sends to QBO. I recommend contacting the third-party application's customer support for further assistance. They can review the mapping and settings of your account to ensure a seamless sync of your entry.

I'm trying to sync a transaction from RAMP (the monthly payment). but I get a message: "The account "1001 BofNH Checking" is not set in the Home Currency.

So I turned on multicurrency and when I check my chart of accounts it shows no currency next to my bank. When I try to edit the item, it shows US dollar (https://s.grcwk.co/bLuQb2YP). I figured I would try to save it as Canadian and change it back, it won't save another currency either. So what should I do now?

The issue is not directly related to RAMP either. I have this same exact message when I am trying to match a credit card payment as well. I found a work around for it, but this is not the first time I have seen this and I've seen it in QBO, not just RAMP.

I'm trying to sync a transaction from RAMP (the monthly payment). but I get a message: "The account "1001 BofNH Checking" is not set in the Home Currency.

I can assist you in getting back on track with your transactions, kings. Thank you for providing me with additional information and screenshots.

Your troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue are appreciated. Please know that changing the item's currency isn't possible as there are already transactions in the 1001 BofNH Checking account.

As you've confirmed that your home currency is set up to USD, but the error persists, I suggest disconnecting and reconnecting the RAMP to fix it. Once done, accurately remap the accounts and items.

To disconnect:

  1. Open your QuickBooks Online account.
  2. Click on the Apps menu, then select Overview.
  3. Locate the app you need to disconnect, click on the dropdown button next to Launch, and select Disconnect.
  4. Complete the short questionnaire and tap Disconnect to remove the app from your company profile.

To reconnect:

  1. Open your QuickBooks Online account.
  2. Select the Apps menu, then click Find Apps.
  3. Search RAMP then hit Get app now.

I also suggest contacting RAMP's support team to guide you in mapping and setting up your RAMP account to ensure the smooth synchronization of your entries.

I'm trying to sync a transaction from RAMP (the monthly payment). but I get a message: "The account "1001 BofNH Checking" is not set in the Home Currency.

As I mentioned before, this is not inherently a RAMP issue, this is a QB issue. I have experienced this error before trying to match a credit card payment (see attached), it is the same message but not even related to RAMP.

And I did contact RAMP on this and here is their response:

I received an update in regards to the error you are seeing. 'Home Currency' is likely a setting that you will need to update on your ERP.

Could you please reach out to Quickbooks Support to see how you can update the currency setting?

So where do we go from here?
