I'm working on Transactions for QB Self-Employed and it won't allow me to connect to my primary bank account. Have tried logging in mult times and the account wont show

I appreciate the actions that you've taken to get this sorted out, @yellow-orenda. I can share the possible reasons you can't find your bank account to connect in QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) and the steps to resolve this.

Bank transactions will show when the account is connected to QBSE. To better assist you, may I ask for more information, such as the name of your bank, any error messages you are encountering, and a screenshot of the issue? This will help us determine the appropriate solution to address your needs.

Financial institutions often operate under multiple bank names or offer different account types, but they typically provide only one website for connecting to QBSE.

Here's how:

  1. Navigate to your Profile and click on Connect Bank under the Transactions section.

  2. In the search field, enter your bank's URL and click Continue.

  3. Enter the sign-in information you use for your bank's website.
  4. When you’re ready, hit the Connect Securely button.

For more information about connecting your bank, check out this article: Find your bank or credit card account when you connect to online banking in QuickBooks Online or Sel... One solution is to consider available alternative versions of your financial institution.

If you still can't connect your bank with QBSE, it could be because your bank doesn't support all types of accounts, such as personal versus business accounts, or because it is not a participating financial institution. In this case, you will need to request support from your bank.

Here's how:

  1. Click the Profile icon and select Connect Bank under the Transactions section.
  2. Search for the name of your financial institution.
  3. If QuickBooks cannot find your bank, you will see the message, 'Hmm, we can’t find [name of the bank you entered] in our list of supported banks,' and you will be provided with helpful tips to locate your bank account.
  4. Select Request to add your bank.
  5. Enter your bank's web address (URL) in the field provided and select Request.

Once you connect your bank account to QBSE, the software will automatically download your transactions every night. You can also set up bank rules to automatically categorize them. Refer to this article as a guide: Use rules to categorize bank transactions in QuickBooks Solopreneur.

We'll be here in the Community if you have updates on finding and connecting your bank account to QBSE. We're committed to offering ongoing support. Take care.
