If credit card transactions quit downloading to Quickbooks Online how can that be corrected?

Hi dwatkins. Thanks for coming to the QuickBooks community. There are actually a few steps you can perform to troubleshoot your bank feeds. Most of the time the issue is with your sign-in info. So follow these steps in order to update your sign-in info for good measure:

  1. Select the blue tile for the bank account, and then select the Edit ✎ icon to edit.
  2. Select Edit sign-in info.
  3. Update your info.

However, there is a chance you're receiving a specific banking error. In that case here are some articles that cover some of the most common errors:

If none of these are what you're experiencing. Just get back with me with a reply and I'll be glad to further assist you. Have a good rest of your day.

There are no banking errors and when I click the edit icon it  pops up the general ledger information to edit.

Hello there, @dwatkins!

Let's go ahead and connect your credit card account directly from the Banking page so you can manage your online transactions.

  1. Go to Transactions.
  2. Select Banking.
  3. Click Add account.
  4. On the Search address, enter your credit card's name or website.
  5. Enter your banking credentials.
  6. Select Continue.
  7. Click Connect.

In addition, here's an article you can read to learn more about how you can connect a bank account: Connect bank and credit card accounts to QuickBooks Online.

Lastly, I've got you this helpful article for ideas about categorizing your transactions: Categorize and match online bank transactions in QuickBooks Online.

Keep me posted in the comments if you have any other questions. I'll be here to lend a helping hand.

The credit card account is connected and the balance updates but no transactions are downloading.

Hi @dwatkins,

The first thing we want to do is running a manual update on your credit card account. Let me guide you through how.

  1. Go to Banking, then Banking at the top.
  2. Select the credit card account in question.
  3. Click Update.

Once done, check if there were transactions downloaded on your account. You might also want to check this handy article on what to do if bank transactions won’t download or there's a bank error for your reference.

We also have a guide on manually upload transactions into QuickBooks Online that you might find helpful.

Please know that you're always welcome to comment anytime if you have questions. We're always here to help. Thanks for coming by and have a great day.
