First, the option to update data for multiple customers is currently unavailable in QBO. I know that editing information by batch is convenient. However, you'll need to manually edit them in the Customers tab.

Additionally, you'll also need to manually update the information for the custom field you've created. This is because you can only match the default QBO fields to their corresponding ones on the file.

Use the exporter tool to get the template of your data including custom fields if any. Then prepare your new data with the same template and import it to your QBO.

I am trying to do this in transaction pro and the custom field(s) do not show up in their importer. I've logged a ticket with them but am not hopeful. If you have any more specific info ... please pass it along. Thanks!
