Is anyone experiencing issues with banking connection?

Hi there, dguggenbiller.

 

Thanks for checking out the Community space.

 

I've checked our records here and found that there aren't reported cases regarding this issue. If you've noticed that QuickBooks no longer automatically download your latest transactions, you can manually update your bank connection to get them. Here's how:
 

  1. Select Banking or Transactions from the sidebar menu.
  2. Go to the Banking tab.
  3. Choose the appropriate bank account.
  4. Click Update.

Take note that undergoing maintenance and server issues can also affect the connection to QuickBooks. You'll want to sign in to your Key Bank's website to check if everything is working on their end. 

 

If there are no issues in your bank, you may perform some basic browser troubleshooting steps. It could be that the accumulated cache in your browser is preventing the program from receiving your transactions. Start by accessing your QBO account in a private or incognito window. Please refer to the shortcut keys I've listed below:
 

  • Ctrl Shift for Google Chrome
  • Ctrl Shift for Firefox & Microsoft Edge
  • Command Shift for Safari

Once you're in, head to the Banking or Transactions menu again. If you're able to connect seamlessly, go back to your regular browser and then clear its cache and cookies to start over fresh. Alternatively, you can switch to other supported browsers.

 

In addition, there are certain bank errors that block QuickBooks from downloading new transactions. If you happen to encounter one, follow the links listed in the Step 4 section of this article to be guided in resolving it: What to do if you get a bank error or can't download transactions.

Open your QBO account on private/incognito browser and rerun the bank feeds. As another option, utilize the trial version of SlickConnect to isolate the issue. If the same error persists, your bank is the problem.

Before anything else, can you tell me the name of your bank? This way, we can check here if there are any updates.


Also, have you tried the troubleshooting steps provided above? If not yet, I recommend trying them first to isolate the issue. 


Otherwise, contact our Technical Support team to get this investigated. They have tools that can determine the cause and can immediately provide additional fixes. Let me show you how:

 

  1. Go to the Help menu.
  2. Type in/click Talk to a human.
  3. Enter “bank feed issue” in the field.
  4. Select I need a human until you see a Get help from a human option.
  5. Choose to Get a callback.


Once resolved, you can use this guide to categorize and match online bank transactions in QuickBooks Online. It contains complete instructions to ensure records are accurate.

Is anyone experiencing issues with banking connection?

Hi-  Thank you for your reply.  I'm having problem with Key Bank.  I tried all the suggested trouble shooting steps and was on the phone with customer assistance on Monday for 2 hours.  I have a ticket number from QBO and called yesterday to check the status and it still has not been resolved.  My ticket number is below.

 INV-58679 and the case is [removed] .  It has been a week now and this has not been resolved.  I also have the bank looking into this as well.

Any additional assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Hi-  Thank you for reaching out.  I have tried all the trouble shooting suggestions and worked with a QBO specialist for 2 hours on Monday and they couldn't figure it out.  It has been 7 days since I have received updated transactions.  My case number is listed below and my bank is Key Bank.  I also have them looking at it but they indicated a week ago that it wasn't the bank it was QBO and vice versa.  

 

INV-58679 and the case is [removed]  

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I know that you really need to download the Key Bank transactions. Let me share some details about this.

 

I checked the investigation you provided. Our engineers are still looking into it and are fixing this issue with your bank. Since you already contacted our Support Team, you'll receive an email update once this is resolved.

 

For now, you'll want to manually import the transactions. What we need is a file from Key Bank that we can upload to QuickBooks Online. You can check the detailed steps here: Manually upload transactions into QuickBooks Online.

 

Once done, you now categorize and match them.
