This generally happens when the list of transactions available is so large that it would require you to continue to scroll for quite some time before you reach the bottom.

The best way to eliminate this is:

  • Shrink down your time frame
  • Filter by the name at the top.

Additionally, if you will be using the reclassifying tool a lot, I recommend that you go into the Report tools within the Accountants Toolbox and set the period you wish to review as well as choose between cash or accrual basis.

When you set the values, they will become the default value across all of your reporting including the reclassify tool.    This will eliminate the need to keep setting the beginning and ending date if you click into a transaction and have to return back to the reclassifying tool.

Hope this helps,

There are transactions that can't be reclassified, zia2.

Items based transactions like invoices, sales receipt or checks are one of those transactions that can't be reclassified because these transactions have income and expense account associated with them.

See How to use the reclassify transactions tool in QuickBooks Online Accountant article as your reference.

Hello there, @zia2.

I'd be glad to help share information about creating invoices and reclassifying transactions.

Items used when creating invoices are set up with an associated income and expense accounts. If you're referring to setting up these items to sales account, as of now there isn't an option to set it that way. To learn more on how to account items for product/service, you may check this article: How to change the account for a product/service item.

In addition, you may also check this article for additional information on how to set up and use products and services list: How to create and use a products and services list.

As always, please feel free to add a comment below if you're referring to something else and if you have any other invoices concerns. I'll be always here to help you!
