Many currencies have no cents/pence. Customers using currency such as Bhat / Dong seeing an amount with .00 think it means 100. How can I display only whole numbers?

If a customer who uses vnd currency sees an invoice that shows 1000.00 they will be completely confused. They will assume it means 10,000. They will reject the invoice. Their tax department will not accept the invoice. How can the cents/ pence be removed in currencies that have only whole numbers?

I can provide you more insights about removing the decimal places on the amount of your customer's invoices, @chris-owen

Currently, the option to only display whole numbers on the invoice amounts is unavailable. I can see the importance of removing the cents/pence as your customer's tax department won't accept the invoices. However, I have two alternative methods you can perform to complete your task.

First, you can export the invoices to Excel. Then, format the Balance and Total cells to 0 decimal places from there. View the screenshot below for your visual reference. After that, you can send them to your customer.

Second, I'd suggest looking for a third-party app that can integrate with QuickBooks Online (QBO). This way, you'll have the option to only display the whole numbers on the invoice amounts. Just either go to the Apps menu or through the QuickBooks App Center. Then, enter Custom Invoice or Customize Invoice in the Search box. Choose the right app for your business so you can start connecting it. For more information, visit this article: Find Apps

Moreover, you can always visit this website: Multicurrency Overview. It provides you more details and links about using the Multicurrency feature in QBO.

You can count me in if there's anything else you need. Take care always, @chris-owen

Hi

It seems no third-party app resolves this problem, I'm from Vietnam and I have the same issue with decimal .00 in the quotation sending to customers. Can Quickbooks make a change in the currency for VND without the decimal?

Thank you

@Quang Nhu

Are you using QBO US version with enabled multi currency feature or QBO Global version for Vietnam?

Hello @Quang Nhu,

As mentioned by my colleague, we're unable to configure the decimals of currencies in QuickBooks. But we're working on product enhancements to meet all customer needs and satisfaction. This time, you'll want to utilize the function of other third-party app providers for the currency decimal configuration.

Lastly, I've also included our help articles in case you need some ideas, especially with managing your account and related tasks: QBO Self-help.

Feel free to visit us again, if you have any other questions with QuickBooks. Always here to help.

Hi @Fiat Lux - ASIA

I think I'm using QBO Global version for Vietnam. Please let me know if you find any third-party app that can help this issue. For now, I have to export the quotation into PDF and use another software to remove .00 after all figures. Hope there will soon have a product enhancement on this.

Thank you for your help.

@Quang Nhu

Consider and explore the CRM app to integrate with your QBO. You will send estimate and/or invoice with the currency format within CRM app.
