My checking account is missing several months of transactions. Previously I was told to reconnect the account and it worked but I'm afraid it says action is irreversible

It says all info will be deleted and the action is irreversible so will it still allow me to reconnect the same account?

Yes, reconnecting your account is still doable even after disconnecting it, katierunnels. While unlinking your bank can be your option, you can also obtain your transactions without doing so by following the information below.

Beforehand, we would like to ask for more details regarding your concern. Can you tell us the name of your bank institution? This information can help us identify the most relevant information and resolution to get you back to business.

In QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE), disconnecting your bank account will also remove all its transactions, which is irreversible. Hence, let's troubleshoot your issue with missing transactions without unlinking your account.

To begin with, you'll want to sign in to your bank's website to check for any messages, notifications, or alerts. These will tell you if something isn't working on their end, causing the missing transactions.

If everything looks good, return to your QBSE company and manually refresh your bank connection to see if the issue is caused by delays and interruptions.

Here's how:

  1. Click the Profile icon.
  2. Choose the Manage accounts under Transactions.
  3. Select the Refresh all button.

If the issue persists, sign in to your QBSE account from a private window to isolate issues related to corrupted cache files. These data can cause unexpected behaviors, including missing entries and other related errors.

You can refer to these keyboard shortcuts:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Safari 11 or newer: ⌘ + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Shift + Ctrl + P
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + N

Once it works, access your company using a supported and updated browser. This helps prevent any troubles when navigating the software to maximize your experience.

Otherwise, you can manually upload your missing transactions using a CSV file. For a smooth importing process, please adhere to the required QuickBooks format.

Moreover, note that you need to categorize your income and expenses. This helps determine the financial health of each business aspect and put your data on the appropriate line in Schedule C.
