My register shows all checks written However trying to reconcile and the bank register is not showing the last 7 checks How do i get them on the register?

@treas-wsclub-org  Reconciliations will typically take into account all of the checks associated with the bank account in question, but it is possible to mark it such that checks dated after the statement ending date you are reconciling will not show.

So, the first two questions that come to mind are:

1) Are the last 7 checks dated within the reconciliation period?

2) Did someone accidentally mark the last 7 checks as cleared already? This would also remove them from the reconciliation window.

There's a few reasons why transactions may be missing from your reconciliation:

  • The transactions were manually reconciled in your register.
  • They're showing up on the For review screen. This can occur if they weren't categorized or matched.
  • If you're working with online banking, some banks will show a transaction on their website, but won't download it until it's been posted. Additionally, some banks don't post transactions for download until later in the date or sometimes the following day. In the event missing transactions are recent ones, be sure to wait at least 24 hours in case your bank doesn't make them available immediately.

You can try updating the account manually to download its latest available data.

Here's how:

  1. In your left navigation bar, go to Transactions, then Banking.
  2. Access the account by clicking its tile. It will turn blue if you've accessed it.
  3. Select Update.

If you see your missing transactions, make sure to review and categorize them so they'll show up on the Reconcile page.

To check if your missing transactions were manually reconciled:

  1. Find the account in your Chart of accounts and click its View register option.
  2. Use the Funnel icon, then filter by Reconcile Status, Transaction Type, Payee, and Date.
  3. Hit Apply.
  4. Find your transaction and check if you see the letter "R" under its Checkmark (Reconcile Status) column. The "R" stands for Reconciled.
  5. Edit your transaction if necessary and click the "R" until it changes to show nothing in its column.
  6. Select Save.

I've also included a couple detailed resources about reconciling which may come in handy moving forward:
