Need to update deposit date in QB self employed

I have two income checks from December 2020 that arrived and were deposited in January 2021. Because of this, the income is showing up in the wrong year. I need my 1099 to match the income reported in QB. Is there a way to modify the date of the deposit or make a journal entry to move this income into the correct year?

Need to update deposit date in QB self employed

I’d be happy to help you and update your deposit date in your QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) account, @lynnaeburns.

We can exclude the deposit and manually add a backdated transaction. (eg 2020). Let me show you how.

  1. Go to the Transactions menu.
  2. Find the transaction you want to exclude and select it to expand the view.
  3. Click the Exclude this transaction checkbox.
  4. Select Save1.JPG
  5. Then click Add transaction.
  6. Enter the date backdated to December 2020.
  7. Select Business as type and Income as a category.
  8. Then click Save when done.

You can also check these links on how to exclude and add transactions in QBSE.
