Opt-out of Instant Deposit advertising

I am getting very irritated by the many ways QBO is constantly trying to get me to sign up for Instant Deposits (the feature that instantly deposits amount owed to me on an invoice for a service fee of 1% the invoice total). The ads pop-up in new places every day. First it was pop-up windows that I have to close. These show up about one per day. But now it is escalating to click bait: Yesterday, i was tying to send my client an invoice, and when the email window popped up, there's a button that usually says "Send & Close" -- but the button had changed to "Send & Fund". if i had pressed it, it would have charged me 1% of my invoice amount to instantly deposit the amount in my bank. This is like click baiting, and is unacceptable for a service that I pay over $500 per year.

I understand that Quickbooks is trying to get users to sign up for new features, but when a user has repeatedly denied offers, there needs to be a way to turn off the feature advertising so the user doesn't have to keep seeing the offer day after day. Intuit's heavyhanded marketing for upcharging their customers is causing me to think about moving to a different bookkeeping & invoicing service.

Opt-out of Instant Deposit advertising

Hello @nk70119,

I would feel the same about the situation if the same thing happened on my end. Allow me to help you with your concern about opting out of ads pop-up in QuickBooks Online.

I know how important being able to navigate the program seamlessly and deny offers that your business doesn't need. Please know our product engineers provide updates regularly to improve the features and options, including the navigation.

For now, I recommend sending feedback about the ads directly to our engineers. We also make changes and adjustments based on user feedback.

Here's how:

  1. Click the Gear icon in the upper-right corner.
  2. Select Feedback under Profile.
  3. Share your feedback.
  4. Hit Next to submit.

Also, I've attached a link you can visit to stay up-to-date to the latest news and features in QuickBooks: QuickBooks News & Updates.

Opt-out of Instant Deposit advertising

After many frustrating rounds of complaining to QBO support and trying to find a way to disable this "feature that is meant to improve my user experience" /s and having my ad-blocker soft-lock QBO for me when I blocked that stupid in-app pop up I finally found a solution that works. I learned about an add-on for my browser called "Redirector"

I set up Redirector so that any time QBO tries to show me that stupid ad for instant cash deposit I get redirected to the QBO home page instead. See attached screenshot for an example of how to add it to your own browser ad-on.

Now anytime Intuit decides they need to spam me with ads in a program that I pay to use I will add that URL to Redirector and hopefully when I'm in my my accounting data entry zone I will not be interrupted with ads any more.

Such a simple and elegant solution. I wish I had thought of it sooner.
