I'd be happy to impart some insights on how to prevent those deleted transactions from showing up in your reconciliation, @hwolpoe.
You'll want to ensure you've excluded those transactions instead of deleting them. This way, the system will recognize them and won't download them again from your bank.
Excluding transactions in the For review tab moves them to the Excluded tab. This acts as a recycle bin for your excluded bank transactions. There, you can review them and decide what to do with them again. Let me show you how:
- Go to the Banking or Transactions menu.
- Select the Banking tab.
- Click the For Review tab.
- Select the checkbox of the transactions you want to exclude, then click Exclude.

- From the Exclude tab, you'll have the option to permanently delete them.

You can also check this article for more details and know the difference between deleting and excluding transactions: Exclude a bank transaction you downloaded into QuickBooks Online.
If you've already added those transactions to your chart of accounts, you'll want to open the register and delete them. Before doing so, I highly suggest working with your accountant to ensure the accuracy of your account after deleting them.
If you don't have one, you can visit our ProAdvisor page and we'll help you find one from there. Once ready, you can now proceed to these steps:
- Go to the Accounting menu and select Chart of accounts.
- Locate and double-click your credit card account from the list. Or click the View register link under the ACTION column to open it.
- Look for the transactions you want to delete. Select it and click Delete.

- Then click Yes to confirm the deletion.
- Redo the steps for the other entries.
Additionally, steer away from manually updating your bank. This way, we can prevent redownloading those deleted transactions. Once you're all set, check out this link that serves as your guide in confidently reconciling your account: Reconcile an account in QuickBooks Online.
