I often need to print post dated checks to repay a loan. I have to print all checks, like 50 checks to get the loan. starting todays date then weekly. for now I copy check and paste 50 times, then change each date to the appropriate date. is there an automated way to do it to save time and error? if I memorize transaction it will only post when date occurs. I need to print it now.
Thanks for all
It's definitely important to automate the printing of post-dated checks, Jacob. Let me share a different method to do this.
As of the moment, the feature to automate the printing of post-dated checks in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) is unavailable. The other option is to create an automatic recurring post-dated check and then memorize it. But since this option doesn't work with you, I'd suggest using a third-party app or service that integrates with QBDT to achieve your goal.
Here's how:

What are you talking about? You can print checks in a batch ("automated") no matter what their date. QuickBooks doesn't care.
RE: "if I memorize transaction it will only post when date occurs."
You can create a memorized recurring transaction that will create checks in the future.
To do this, create the memorized check, choose the option to automatically record, enter the first date for the next check and the period (I'll guess monthly), the total number of checks (50 in your example) and then in the days in advance to enter field, enter 999 (the largest number allowed). Then restart QuickBooks and let it record the checks. These steps will create about 33 monthly checks, each month into the future.
A way to get it to create more checks is to close the company file, set your computer's date a couple of years into the future, and then open the company file.

Notably, it is unusual to create checks like this all up front instead of waiting until they're due. I've never heard of anyone doing it before. Why do you do this?
Thanks all for taking your time to reply. Sorry for my late reply.
I used to use the memorized transaction and changing the pc date, but I had some issues. will try again when needed and see what the issues is.
The reason of making this checks, is some lenders are okay to lend big dollars, but they want to have monthly post dated checks for the amount of the loan or mortgage.
Makes sense?
