Join nowHi all,
I would like to know if someone can help, I have tried the forum but non seems to have the exact same issue as I am having.
So I have reconciled my bank account this month ending, to find out that my qbo balance is not the same as my actual bank balance. In actual fact it is in the minus? This is very puzzling to me being a newbie at this. When i did reconcile, there were no differences. when I go to bank register I see a few transactions that I left out because they were duplicated. But, when I add all those amounts up and subtract my actual bank balance from that amount I get the amount the qbo is in the minus with. So I'm not sure what's going on. Am I missing something.
Any help would be appreciated
There should never be duplicated entries in the bank account register - delete those that are duplicates.
If there are outstanding checks or deposits that have not been noted on the bank statement, those will affect the ending balance in QB, as they should. And those outstanding checks or deposits are the only things you skip during a recon.
Thanks for reply,
I know there shouldn't be duplicates, but I thought by just excluding then from reconciling and getting a zero difference would be ok. I did not realize that they actually still affect the balance.
So what I did was delete them and all is sorted.
Thanks so much.
