Hi, every time I try to reconnect my bank I get a message saying
400 something unexpected happened.
It's never been an issue in the past it's just this time. Does anyone know a fix ?
Cheers
The error (400) that you've encountered indicates that the server is unable to process the request being sent due to an issue that is perceived by the server (corrupted), @gmcardleplumbing. Let’s take a few steps to isolate the problem.
Please login directly to your bank's website and check if you get the same error. If the issue persists, the error could be coming from your bank, and I recommend contacting them for further investigation.
You can also refresh the connection between QuickBooks and your financial institution by manually updating your bank account. To do that, here's how:
For more information on updating your bank account connection in QuickBooks Online (QBO), please refer to this article: Bank errors and missing transactions in QuickBooks Online.
If the issue persist, consider manually uploading your transactions to bring them over to QuickBooks as a workaround.

Before we dive into troubleshooting steps, could you clarify if you’re using the QuickBooks Online (QBO) app? This information will enable me to provide you with the most accurate assistance. Also, please share your bank institution so I can check relevant ongoing investigations.
Since you've already checked with your bank and updated the connection, I recommend accessing your account using an incognito window to eliminate any potential issues related to the regular browser or app you're currently using.
Cached files can sometimes lead to unexpected behavior in your browser. Hence, using incognito mode provides a more reliable experience. Below are the shortcut keys for opening an incognito window in various supported browsers:
Mozilla Firefox: CTRL + Shift + P
Microsoft Edge: CTRL + Shift + N
Google Chrome: CTRL + Shift + N
Safari: Command + Shift + N
After starting a new private browsing session, please log into your QBO account and check if the bank connection error no longer appears. If yes, clear your browser's cache to help the program run smoothly and eliminate technical issues. You can also use other devices and supported browsers as alternatives.
If you're using the QBO app, I recommend uninstalling and reinstalling it to clear up unexpected behavior and ensure it's functioning correctly.
Furthermore, I'll share this valuable resource on handling your transactions effectively. This article provides essential guidance on categorizing your entries, ensuring they align correctly with your financial records:
