Hello, Arlene.
I'll help you out in handling the deposit in QuickBooks Online.
There's no need to create a sales receipt since this might duplicate your income or sales.
Make sure you've added your donors or vendors in QuickBooks Online. If they weren't imported during the switch, you'll want to move them manually. This might be the reason why you're only seeing a single vendor or donor.
Export them from QuickBooks Desktop, then import the file to the Online version.
After adding your vendors or donors, you can go ahead and take care of the deposit. Though, it depends on how it is recorded in QuickBooks.
Are you trying to record it through the Online Banking feature? If that's the case, here's how you can properly assign it to your donors or vendors:
- Go to the Banking page.
- Find and select the deposit, then select the Categorize button.
- Click the Split transaction link.
- Under the Received From column, add your vendors or donors.
- For Category, add the accounts where you want to track the deposit.
- Split or calculate the amount.
- Once done, click Apply and confirm.

However if it's through the Bank deposit feature, you'll want to manually categorize the deposit and split it between your donors or vendors:
- Click the + New button, then select Bank deposit.
- Under Add funds to this deposit, add the donors or vendors.
- Select the account where you want to track the deposit.
- Add the amounts.
- Enter other information such as memo and description.
- Once done, click Save and close.
