Does Quickbooks Self Employed require an exact CSV format for importing older bank transactions?

I tried modifying the CSV file from the bank to follow quickbooks guidelines but it still won't upload the file.

Does Quickbooks Self Employed require an exact CSV format for importing older bank transactions?

Hello, Nick! It's our pleasure to welcome you to the Community space. We want to make sure your older transactions are imported to QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE).

You need to follow the CSV format required by QuickBooks when importing bank transactions. QBSE only accepts 3-column or 4-column format for the CSV file. Please use this article as your guide: Format CSV files in Excel to get bank transactions into QuickBooks.

I’ll add the snapshot below for your reference:

The 3-column format:

The 4-column format:

If you need to manually import your bank transactions using a CSV file, just get this file from your bank's website. Let me show you how:

  1. Got to the Gear icon.
  2. Select Imports.
  3. Tap Import older transactions and follow the on-screen instructions.
  4. Tick Import.

For the time being, you may utilize the web connect feature by bringing your bank entries to QBSE manually. You can check these articles for the detailed steps:

Additionally, I'll be sharing these resources that will help you categorize your bank transaction and how QuickBooks Self-Employed matches it to a line on your Schedule C categories:

Please let us know if you have any other questions while importing your transactions to QuickBooks. We are always here to assist you and ensure your business runs smoothly. Have a great day, Nick!
