Duplicate transactions that I can't undo to exclude. Changes won't save even with new browser. Can I just remove the account and upload to not have duplicates?

I can help you get rid of the duplicate transactions in your account, @rtf2020livingsto.

First, what bank account are you getting duplicate transactions? This way, I'd be able to narrow-down the investigation in determining the root cause of your concern.

Meanwhile, any of the following reason below may result to getting duplicate transactions once your bank resumes connection with QuickBooks:

  • Bank outage and other scheduled maintenance.
  • Update on your bank’s website. If you can’t find your FI, you can Request support for your bank and request it be added.
  • If there is a minor or major update in your bank information such as the bank account number.
  • Update in your Online Banking Login credentials.
  • Disconnecting and reconnecting your connected bank account.

Let's start by accessing your QuickBooks account using private browser or an incognito browser. You can use either of these  keyboard shortcuts:

  • Google Chrome: press Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: press Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: press Command + Shift + N

Once logged in, you can try excluding your transactions. If they're already been added, you'd want to undo it first. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Banking menu.
  2. Choose the Banking tab.
  3. Select a bank account.
  4. Go to the Reviewed tab.
  5. Locate the duplicate transactions.
  6. Click Undo under Action.

Now, you can go back to the For Review tab. Then, proceed with excluding the duplicates. Here's how:

  1. Go to the For Review tab.
  2. Put a check mark on the duplicate transactions.
  3. Pick the drop-down arrow next to Batch actions.
  4. Click Exclude Selected.

If you wish to permanently delete them, you can follow the steps below:

  1. Go to the Excluded tab.
  2. Select transactions to delete.
  3. Click the Batch Actions.
  4. Hit Delete
