How do I find a deposit from 2020?

Finding your 2020 deposits in QuickBooks Online (QBO) is easy, regner. Let's work together to locate them.

First, I'd like to know if the transactions are manually added to the program or downloaded in your bank feed. This way, I can provide the accurate steps to fix this.

If the previous deposits are recorded manually in QBO, there are several ways to find them. I'd be glad to list them down below.

First, we can use the Search feature to find them. Here's how:

  1. Click the Magnifying glass button.
  2. Select Go to transactions search.

  3. Under Date range, choose Custom and enter the correct dates (2020).
  4. Choose Deposit under Transaction type.
  5. After that, all the deposits created in 2020 will populate.

Another option is to find the transactions in the Register. I'll show how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon and then select Chart of Accounts.
  2. Find the account where you put the 2020 deposits. Then, in the Action column, hit View register.
  3. Click the Filter icon.
  4. Under Transaction Type, select Deposit. On the Date fields, choose Custom and add the correct period.
  5. Hit Apply.

Moreover, you can also consider running the Deposit Detail report:

  1. Go to Reports.
  2. Type in Deposit Detail in the Search field, then select it.
  3. Under the Report period field, choose Custom dates and enter the correct dates.
  4. Hit Filter.
  5. On the Filter by field, select Transaction type. Under Value, choose Deposit.

In case these transactions are categorized in your bank feeds, please follow the steps below to locate them:

  1. Go to the Transactions menu and then select Bank transactions.
  2. Choose Categorized.
  3. Click All dates and enter the correct period (2020).
  4. Once done, hit Apply.

Finally, I've added this article to help you ensure your QBO accounts match your bank and credit card statements to keep your record accurate: Reconcile an account in QuickBooks Online.

My team and I are always ready to assist you if you need additional assistance locating other transactions in QBO or tracking them in the program. Please don't hesitate to click the Reply button and share your concerns or questions.
