How do I undo a reconciliation?

You can manually undo reconciliation one transaction at a time, Admiral.

If you don’t have access to the QuickBooks Online Accountant version, you can’t undo an entire reconciliation in one step. That said, it's best to review your account balances and your real-life bank statements. Then, update the status through your bank registers. To do this:

  1. Navigate to My Apps and choose Chart of Accounts from the Accounting dropdown.
  2. Locate the account and click View Register.
  3. Select the transaction you want to undo.
  4. Review the check column. If the transaction is reconciled, you’ll see an “R.”
  5. Click the box until it’s blank to remove it from reconciliation.
  6. Once done, click Save.

If you want to undo an entire reconciliation, I recommend seeking additional guidance from your accountant.

I'll always be available in this forum if you need further assistance when managing reconciliations in your account.
