why I dont have charts of accounts?
Thanks for dropping by here in the Community, @krulka. I can share some insights on why you cannot access the Chart of Accounts (COA).
Before we start, may I ask what QuickBooks product you're using? This way, we can identify if your product has a feature to access COA.
Each QuickBooks product comes with enhanced features necessary for managing your accounts. However, there are certain differences in features between each product.
If you use QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE), please note that this product doesn't have a COA feature for setting up and managing accounts. The product is designed to help you track your business income and expenses using Schedule C categories.
Meanwhile, when you categorize a transaction, QuickBooks matches it to a specific category on your Schedule C. I'm including this article for more information on categorizing bank transactions: Categorize transactions in QuickBooks Self-Employed.
If you want to use the COA, consider switching to QuickBooks Online. This version provides more features, including tracking or adding your account to the COA.
On the other hand, if you're using QuickBooks Online (QBO) but can't access the COA, I suggest performing browser troubleshooting.
Moreover, you can create and manage category rules to automatically categorize your transactions: Create rules to speed up reviews in QBSE.
I'm always here to help if you need additional assistance accessing COA. Have a good one.
