I had a concern about reconciling an account a deposit that I added that the bank did not clear

First off, may I know what you mean by putting in the remaining balance?

Meanwhile, please make sure to follow your bank statement when reconciling your account. Thus, if it doesn't appear in your bank statement, then you don't have to include it in your reconciliation. This is because QuickBooks should have exact records of transactions similar to what your actual bank statement shows.

Otherwise, if the deposit transactions were cleared in your bank or showed up in the bank statement but didn't appear in your online banking or not yet in your register then you'll have to record it manually.

After that, manually clear the deposits so they will appear in your reconciliation. Here's how:

1. Go to the Gear icon, then choose Chart of accounts.
2. Locate the account that you put the transaction into and select View register.
3. Find the transaction and select it to expand the view.
4. Select the box in the checkmark column until you see a C.
5. Once done, tap Save.
