I need to merge two checking accounts. One is connected to online banking. Do I need to disconnect the one account and then merge? Followed by connecting back to bank.

I’ll help point you in the right direction about merging accounts in QBO. We’ll have to disconnect the connected checking account and then merge the other one.

When merging accounts, the process is permanent and you’ll no longer be able to undo it. Let’s make sure that you’ll disconnect the correct account so you can easily reconnect it.

To unlink:

1. Go to the  Banking menu on the left panel to choose the Banking option.
2. From the list,  select your checking account and hit the Pencil icon and then click the Edit account info link.
3. In the Account window, navigate to the Connected to section and tick the box for Disconnect this account on save.
4. Press the Save and Close button.
