Recalling a past deposit or transaction in check register for easy entry

When I used the quicken for home and business the check register allowed me to recall past transaction or deposits for quick easy entry. For example I would start to type Dep for deposit and it would populate payee, account , memo from past entry for this payee or deposit in QB Pro 2021 desktop it only recalls the payee and account and memo needs filled in. Am I missing something or is this feature just not available? This feature is extremely important benefit .

Thanks for your time visiting the QuickBooks Community, @workboot,

I understand how much you would want to get this taken care of, however, Quicken is a third-party program from Intuit. That being said, they have a separate Support and Community page. You may access their Help Line by clicking this link here: Quicken Support Options

This forum caters concerns about Intuit programs, such as QuickBooks Online, QuickBooks Desktop, QuickBooks Self-Employed, QuickBooks Point of Sale and, etc. I'll be adding some Resource Hubs below just in case you want to know more about our online and desktop products:

Please keep in touch if you have questions about our products. I'll be more than happy to guide you further. Have a nice day!

Recalling a past deposit or transaction in check register for easy entry

Jen thank you for pointing out that quicken was a third party vender, yes I know I purchased Quickbooks Desktop Pro 2021 and was just using that as a reference. I was hoping that there was a setting in QBDT 2021 that would allow me to enjoy that same function. Very sorry my question was confusing

Recalling a past deposit or transaction in check register for easy entry

It's our pleasure to share information, @workboot.

Thanks for the clarification. I can help you make anything possible in QuickBooks Desktop.

I know that it is very advantageous for you and other companies to recall a previous transaction in the check register. With that, I'll point you to the page where you can post comments to our product engineers. It enables our engineers to develop a solution to enhance your overall QuickBooks experience.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Help icon on the upper right pane and choose Send Feedback Online.
  2. Select Product Suggestion
  3. Type your concern in the box and click Send Feedback

Many of the program's current features are available because of user feedback. Also, QuickBooks has a website where you can vote on and provide comments on any future suggestions. To access the page, visit this link: Customer Feedback for QuickBooks.

As an alternative, you can enable the auto-fill feature for your vendor transactions. To do this, please follow the steps below:

  1. Go to the Edit menu at the top left and choose Preferences
  2. Select General and proceed to the My Preferences tab.
  3. Place a checkmark on the Automatically remember account or transaction information.
  4. Choose either Automatically recall last transaction for this name or Pre-fill accounts for vendor based on past entries
  5. Click OK

Keep in mind that these options apply exclusively to vendors in QBDT.

Visit the articles below on how to personalize check register and reconcile accounts in QuickBooks:

Stay posted if you have any other questions about the auto-recall feature by adding a comment below. I'm just a post away to assist you, workboot.
