reconcile closing date wrong

I did a reconcile but put the wrong statement closing date.  I went into the register and un-reconciled the entries.  Now when I go to reconcile I get an error based on the wrong date.  Can I change the last reconcile closing date?

reconcile closing date wrong

Good to see you here in the QuickBooks Community, @scotinusa.

I'm here to help share some information about reconciling account in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

You have an option to edit the statement ending date before an account is reconciled. To do this, here's how:

  1. On the left menu tab, click Accounting.
  2. Select on Reconcile tab.
  3. Click Edit info button at the top of the reconciliation page.
  4. Change the Ending date.
  5. Click Save.

However, if you've completed your reconciliation, there isn't a way to change it. The options you can do:

  • You can leave the date and just make sure to select the correct end date the next time you reconcile (an incorrect date doesn't affect any balances and will not prevent you from future reconciliation).
  • Un-reconcile and then re-reconcile with the correct end date.

Please know that I'm just a post away if you have any other questions about the reconciliation. Wishing you and your business continued success.
