Removing transactions from the downloaded transactions list

I'd like to know how to remove transactions from the Downloaded Transactions list. That way all I can see is what still needs to be added. There was a prompt when I started, I didn't choose not to show me again, but it hasn't returned. Any suggestions?

Removing transactions from the downloaded transactions list

Glad to see you here, loloconnor.

I’m happy to give the steps for how you can do this. Before doing so, please take note that we're unable to undo the process once the transaction is successfully deleted.

To remove, you can simply go to Banking Downloaded Transactions. Then, select the transaction and click Delete. The other way is to select the transaction and press Delete on your keyboard. You can also press Command as a shortcut.

For managing your bank transactions in QuickBooks Desktop for Mac, check out the articles and guides in our general help topics page.

Please feel free to post again if there’s anything else you need. I’m always around to help you. Take care!

Thank you!! That is simple enough. Also, a prompt returned to ask if I wanted them deleted since they've been added.

Is there a reason that even once transactions have been added to the register, that they are still in the Downloaded Transactions?

Removing transactions from the downloaded transactions list

Hello @loloconnor,

Let me help share a few instances which can be the reason why a bank transaction is listed in your downloaded transaction and account registers.

To start with, most customers stated the following instances below as the reason why a downloaded transaction is seen in both list:

  • A duplicate copy is created based on the downloaded transactions provided by your bank account and the integrated online connection
  • A duplicate copy can also come from the list of transaction uploaded using web connect
  • A duplicate copy can be created once you have an existing entry yet the downloaded transaction is added instead of matching them

You on the right track, deleting them from the list of your downloaded transactions will fix the duplicate entries. Learn more about how you can review them with this article: Add and match transactions in QuickBooks Desktop for Mac.

Additionally, I've also included this reference for a compilation of articles you can use while working with us: Banking with QuickBooks desktop for Mac.

If there's anything else that I can help you with, please let me know in the comments below. I'll be here to lend a hand.

Removing transactions from the downloaded transactions list

Can we delete several downloaded transactions at the same time in the downloaded transactions window?

On the Downloaded Transactions window, can we remove several downloaded transactions at one time?  Then I wouldn't have to press delete for each downloaded transaction once it has been placed in my register.  Thank you!

Removing transactions from the downloaded transactions list

Good day, @cet2.

At the moment, there's no option to delete multiple transactions at once in QuickBooks for Mac. You'll need to open each transaction and delete them one at a time. Here's how:

  1. Open your bank register.
  2. Double-click the transaction that you want to delete.
  3. Press Command-D to delete the transaction.
