Buy nowIs there a way to select more than one renaming rule and delete or edit it? We seem to have hundreds (QB 2018) and it would take me an hour to keep selecting individually. Heck, even if it would just select the next one after using keyboard commands to delete the one prior, that would help.
Why is this interface always so hard to work in?
Much obliged,
Mick
Thanks for bringing this up in the QuickBooks Community, @MickG.
I can see how the option to delete or edit multiple rules is beneficial for your business. Right now, we can only update or remove one rule at a time.
Our QuickBooks team strives to provide excellent customer service and deliver customer satisfaction at all times. I want you to know that we value your feedback, and it would be a big help to improve the service and your QuickBooks experience.
I'd suggest sending this suggestion to our product developers so they can review it. Simply follow these steps:
Here's how:
Your feedback is definitely valuable to Intuit. It goes directly to our Product Development Team and can help improve user experiences in the software.

Thanks, ReymondO,
Disappointing info, but unsurprising.
I don't have time to make obvious interface suggestions that will likely be ignored. Besides, if I was in charge of the product development team for Mac, I would already have someone sharp (like you perhaps) reading these public forums all day. Sending private messages to a development team of any significant size is like trying to get your screenplay read in Hollywood. If you're lucky, it's in a giant pile of screenplays that will never be read and not simply sent to the shredder before it even sees the inside of an office.
I dream of a time when Quickbooks (2018 for Mac, in my case) can actually be reflective of the name of the company that owns it and becomes genuinely user-friendly and Intuit-ive for once. Every quarter when I have to download bank and CC transactions, I have to fight these renaming rules and super kludgy interface that almost seems to be designed to be so.
Some people suggest Intuit has grown so big and wealthy as the industry standard that they've grown complacent. We're forced to buy "new" versions of QuickBooks every 3 years, simply so we can download our digital data from our own credit card websites, from our own bank. The program never significantly improves––even every 3 years––but we're stuck with it because all the best bookkeepers and CPAs are so deep into it.
I just wish someone's pride would kick in and really want to make it the BEST product out there and not just the one we're forced to use because of its massive market share. Intuit should compete with itself to be the best, not the biggest. Be better each year because the global corporation takes pride and is relentless in responding to customer complaints and problems by the thousands (like in these forums). Compete with last year's version of you. Be better because you care. Kind of like Apple does, or at least used to.
I got off on a tangent there.
Please feel free to forward my comments and suggestions to the development team. They really should be reading every post in these community forums every day.
Thanks for your time and attention to this ReymondO.
