saving tab settings

I have three different checking accounts in my business. I'm a real newbie to Quickbooks online!! Don't know anything about it. I've tried making three different tabs, one for each checking account but can't figure out how to save the three tabs so the next time I use the Online app they are still there. Also is there a way to show the account number on the register screen. A couple of the accounts have almost the same amount it them. I need the register screen to show me which account I'm in.

You've come to the right place, Postaloptions. I'll be here to lend a hand on how you can easily access your tabs and how to display the account number on your register in QuickBooks Online.

Before I can provide you with a workaround, let me inform you that there isn't a direct way to open different tabs and access them directly when you open your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account.

Alternatively, we can use the Bookmark feature within the browser to allow you a quick pass to that page instead of browsing it or searching for it.

If you need to create a bookmark from your Mobile, see these steps:

  1. On your Android device, open Chrome.
  2. Go to a site you want to visit again in the future.
  3. To the right of the address bar, tap More.
  4. Add a Bookmark.

To open the bookmark, see these steps below:

  1. On your Android device, open Chrome.
  2. At the top right, tap More and locate the Bookmarks.
  3. If your address bar is at the bottom, swipe up on the address bar. Tap Bookmarks.
  4. Find and tap a bookmark.

Furthermore, to display the account number on your accounts, we will need to turn on this option in your settings to utilize this feature.

  1. Choose the Settings and select Account and Settings.
  2. Tap the Advanced tab.
  3. Pick the Edit ✎ in the Chart of Accounts section.
  4. Turn on the Enable account numbers feature
  5. Select Save and Done.

Once done, an extra column appears in your register. The next thing to do is to edit your account and enter the account number.

  1. Navigate Settings, then select Chart of Accounts.
  2. Pick the edit above the Action column.
  3. In the Number column, add account numbers.
  4. Once you’re done, select Save.

I've got you these resources that will help you manage your chart of accounts and registers:

I'll be right here to continue supporting you if you have any other concerns or inquiries about QBO displays and navigation. Assistance is just a post away. Have a great day!

Thank You! Another question. In my old desktop version I had each of my checking accounts with a different color that matched the "check" color. Is there a way to change the color of each of my accounts?

Thanks for returning to this thread, @postaloptions. Let me assist you further on this.

Since QuickBooks Online's (QBO) interface and customization options differ from those in QuickBooks Desktop, changing a checking account register's color isn't currently available in QBO. For now, I'm here to share how you can send feature suggestions to our product engineers.

It's important that the software accommodates various business needs, especially in changing account register colors or making access to preferred pages in the software easily accessible upon sign-in. Your experience highlights where the software needs to improve. Here's how you can send feature suggestions:

  1. In your QBO account, go to the Gear icon.
  2. Select Feedback.
  3. Enter your comments or product suggestions.

Let me add this resource as a supplemental guide in navigating QBO: Get started with QuickBooks Online

We'll be here in the Community if you need further assistance navigating QBO. We're committed to offering ongoing support. Take care.
