Square to QBO account mapping issue

Square-to-QBO integration is mostly working fine. items and categories are mapping as expected. however, Sqaure fees come in as 'Sqaure Fees' and do not map/update to the G/L account assigned in Apps > Square > Settings > Advanced. i note that in that settings area, the SQUARE NAME = 'Square merchant fees' and not the imported 'Square Fees'. maybe that mismatch is causing the fail? i am unable to edit the SQUARE NAME field.

anybody have Square fees mapping to a specified G/L account? how'd you do it?

thanks.

Square to QBO account mapping issue

It's great to assist you here in the Community forum, @warmpools.

I'm here to ensure you can edit the Square name fields in your QuickBooks Online (QBO) account.

The discrepancy arises because square fees are detailed within Square, whereas square merchant fees are separately listed within QBO.

Let's ensure that your Chart of Accounts includes square fees. Then, you can precisely map the items and categories for an accurate match.

If you want to modify the existing account created, here's how:

  1. On the left navigational panel, look for the Transactions tab.
  2. Select Chart of accounts.
  3. Locate the account you'd like to edit.
  4. Select the dropdown arrow next to Account history or Run report (depending on the account).
  5. Click Edit.
  6. Make all desired changes and select Save and Close

On the other hand, if you want to create a new account for the desire Square Fee name, here's how:

  1. On the left navigational panel, look for the Transactions tab.
  2. Select Chart of accounts.
  3. Choose New.
  4. Select the appropriate account type from the Account Type dropdown menu.
  5. From the dropdown menu, choose the appropriate Detail Type.
  6. Fill in all remaining fields and select Save and Close

Lastly, I'm adding this resource you can always browse through just in case you need assistance keeping your chart of accounts organized: Add an account to your chart of accounts in QuickBooks Online.

I'll be around anytime in this forum if there's anything else you require additional assistance with when managing fees in your account. Let me know below so I can provide further help. Take care.
