Stop the Printer

Welcome to the Community, MMorningstar. I'm here to ensure your QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) stops printing reconciliation reports after reconciling.

Printing reconciliation reports automatically is currently unavailable in QBDT. After reconciling, you can choose to Display or Close the page instead of Print if you don't want to obtain a hard copy of the data.

In your case, let's troubleshoot your company file to prevent the system from printing reconciliation reports automatically. It allows us to look for issues within your data and fix them so you can get back to business.

To begin with, here's how to verify your company data:

  1. Proceed to the Window tab, then select Close All.
  2. Click on File and select Utilities.
  3. Choose Verify Data, then OK.

After that, follow these steps to rebuild your company file data:

  1. Head to the File menu, then Utilities.
  2. Select OK once asked to create a backup of your company file.
  3. Choose where you want to save your backup and click OK.
  4. Once you get the message Rebuild has completed, select OK.

For the detailed process, refer to this article: Verify and Rebuild Data in QuickBooks Desktop.

Moreover, you can scan this material for guidance when you encounter issues when reconciling accounts for the succeeding month: Fix issues when you're reconciling in QuickBooks Desktop.

Stop the Printer

When the report/print window comes up after completing the reconcile, close it instead of clicking one of the print buttons.
