Sync credit card statements

Not all of my credit cards are syncing statements.  I heard *somewhere* (can't remember where) that not all providers are able to sync credit card statements.  Is that true?  If so, is there a list of providers who do NOT sync their statements for credit cards?

Currently I'm not able to sync AMEX nor PayPal Mastercard (haven't tried PayPal pseudo banking, but maybe them, too.)

Thanks.

Jen

Sync credit card statements

Good day, Jen Horton.

The possible reason that your credit card isn't syncing with QuickBooks Online is that your bank might have a system under maintenance, or there could be important notifications on their website that need your attention. To ensure, double-check it on your bank website.

You can check this file to see the banks that support View Bank Statements on QBO: Supported banks.

When your financial institution performs system maintenance, you can manually update your account. This way, it'll refresh the connection between your bank and the program.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Banking or Transactions menu.
  2. Select the blue tile for your credit card account.
  3. Click the Update button.

If you want to learn more about reviewing downloaded bank transactions and putting them in the correct accounts, you can refer to this article for detailed steps: Categorize online bank transactions in QuickBooks Online. It also includes details about excluding personal or duplicate transactions.

I also recommend reconciling your accounts every month to effectively monitor your income, and expenses, and ensure they match with your real-life transactions. You can check out this article for the step-by-step guide: Reconcile an account in QuickBooks Online.
