Thanks in advance! Am I able to export my customer information to excel, make necessary changes and import again into quickbooks online?

2. Look for the icon located next to the Print icon and click on it.
3. Then, it lets you export to Excel.

Before importing customer information, carefully review and verify the data. Save the file in CSV, XLSX, or Google Sheets format and ensure files are under 2MB or 1000 rows. If the file is larger than the limit, let's split it into multiple files.

Thank you so much for this information Carl, I think it will save me a lot of time updating my customer accounts. I just wanted to ask for clarity that changing this information won't affect the sales history for existing customers. I assume not as long as we don't change the customer name?

This applies to files exported from Google Sheets, Excel, and CSV formats. It is essential to avoid having multiple vendors, customers, or employees with the same name, as this can cause confusion and errors in your contact list.

What if I want to make a mass change in the Display Name only, but leave the First & Last Name the same or Company Name the same.  To keep up with our Maintenance Agreement Customers easily, we chose to put the following in front of their names in the Display Name only "***PREPAID*** followed by the name".  We done it this way because the Display name doe not show to the customer on an invoice but allows us to keep those customers together and find them easily.  We. now need to remove the ***PREPAID*** portion of that because we are using a Field Service Management Software that uses QBO's Display Name as the Job Location Name in the new software and therefore, it will display on Invoices.  I need to make sure that if I remove the ***PREPAID*** from the downloaded excel spreadsheet and upload it back in to QBO, it will not duplicate my customers.
