Glad to see you here in the Community, @roxann-sturgeonc.
I'll lay down the steps to help you find the rule that applies to your transfer in QuickBooks Online. I'd be glad to show you how:
Here's an article you can refer to for more details about setting up bank rules for online banking transactions: Set up bank rules to categorize online banking transactions in QuickBooks Online.
Furthermore, you'll want to check out these resources that can aid you in organizing your transactions:
Please let me know if you need further assistance in managing your transactions or if there's anything else I can do for you. I'll be standing by for your response. Have a great day, and stay safe.
When I click on the rule it only shows me the undo option. Doesn't show me the actual rule like your example shows. It doesn't have the (suggested or anything else) beside it. Should I just click on the Undo button? If so, would I have to undo each transaction with this problem?
Thanks for getting back with the Community, roxann-sturgeonc.
You can disable and/or delete rules from your Rules screen in the Banking section of your books.
Here's how to find the page:
Once you're there, locate the rule you're working with and find its ACTIONS column. Next to its Edit option, use your Drop-Down Arrow (▼) icon. You'll have an option to Disable it, as well as an option to Delete it.
I've also included a detailed resource about working with banking rules which may come in handy moving forward: Set up bank rules to categorize online banking transactions
If there's any additional questions, I'm just a post away. Have a lovely day!
I understand what you're saying but I can't find the rule that applies to this because when I click on the rule it does not actually show me the rule, only what the bank part says. When I go to rules then I can't find any rule that meets the criteria.
I appreciate you for following the steps shared by my peer above, roxann-sturgeonc.
Since you've already confirmed that no rule meets the requirements for transfer transactions, let me direct you to the available support that can assist you with this one.
I recommend contacting our Technical Support Team since the Community is a public forum and we'll need to collect some personal information to pull up your account. They'll be able to perform a screen-sharing session to do further investigation into this behavior. Here’s how to get in touch with our representatives:
Once you're good with all of your transactions, you can now proceed to reconcile an account in QBO. If everything matches up with your bank or credit card statements, you know your accounts are balanced and accurate.
You're always welcome to get back to me if you have any other follow-up questions regarding the bank rules in QBO. I’ll be around ready to back you up. Keep safe!
