Using overdraft as a line of credit

I have a credit union bank that gives me overdraft protection. That overdraft protection I use as a line of credit. I like to download it to make it simpler for myself but my issue is I have downloaded the checking account and it automatically has downloaded the overdraft account as well. Here are my questions
when I write a check obviously him I don't have to worry about having enough money to cover the check was a ghost overdraft. For example, I write a check for $120.00 but I only have $50.00. So how is the $120.00 check shown, how is $50.00 shown, and how is the $ 70.00 shown.
Please keep in mind that time to time i in fact put cash into the bank account so I also have checks againt that cash as well. Thank you for any help offerred

Using overdraft as a line of credit

Hey there, razor518.

Good to see you here in the Community. I can provide some clarification on how your transaction would look like once it's downloaded.

After some thorough research, I found out that the full amount ($120) will show up when you download the transaction. Meanwhile, for details of the split ($50 and $70), they'll most likely be indicated in the Description field.

The same thing happens when you put in cash into your bank account. The full amount will still show in the For Review tab when you download the transactions. For additional insight about this, I recommend following this article: Get started with Bank Feeds for QuickBooks Desktop

Keep in touch if you have any other questions about this, or if there's anything else I can help you with. Have a great day!
