Join nowHow do I define what dates I want to view transactions for in register view? Say I want to view one month at a time or specify the date range?
Thanks for posting to the Community, @HLArch.
You can use the search field on the upper left of the register to define what transactions to view on a specified date.
For example, you want to search for transactions dated in November, and your dates appear as mm/dd/yy, you could type "11/" or specify a day "11/01/19.
You can also open a quick report and specify the date range.
For more details on how to refine your search on the register, you can see it on page 48 of this pdf manual: QuickBooks Desktop for Mac User's Guide. It includes all the things you want to know with QuickBooks Desktop for Mac.

So what do you type to actually search for all of your transactions in February? I type 02/01/20-02/29/20 or02/01/20 to 02/29/20 and only one transaction appears.
Hi there, @HLArch.
You can run a quick reports on your bank to see your bank transactions.
Here's how:
1. Go to your Charts of account.
2. Choose the bank, right click your mouse and select Quick reports.
3. On the From and To boxes, filter the date.
You can use this QuickBooks for Mac pdf guide for future reference: QuickBooks Desktop for Mac User's Guide.
Feel free to drop additional questions, have a great day!
I would like to suggest that you add a feature that allows you to type in the dates you'd like to see in the register. We use the register for our transaction entry and it would be helpful to be able to isolate dates or months. The two other programs, YNAB for budgeting, and our previous accounting program, AccountEdge, which very professional, had that in the register. No need to go to another pane, choose accounts and then run reports. Seems like a simple thing to have.
And you can't sort...
