Why is the screen so small when editing the splits on imported bank transactions?

Customer service:  do not post any of your canned articles about display resolution or zooming in chrome because none of that s..t works.  I spent two hours in chat with CS trying to resolve it and it was not solved.  The same goes for the quickbooks online desktop app.  This is utterly ridiculous.  People entering the data can't see the full description so they don't know if what they are entering is correct.  You can't even tab out of the freaking field because it wants to add a new account everytime.

Why is the screen so small when editing the splits on imported bank transactions?

I hear all your sentiments while splitting imported bank transactions in QuickBooks Online (QBO), TH76. I understand how important it is for you to maximize the fields in the Split transaction window to see the full description details. I'm here to provide some information regarding this functionality.

I can see how useful it would be to enlarge the dimensions of the fields for a better perspective and see all of the provided information at a glance. While the system sets default sizes for these fields when splitting transactions, I recommend sending a feature request directly to our product developers so they can evaluate the possibility of incorporating this in future updates.

To start:

  1. Go to the Gear icon, then Feedback.
  2. Enter your comments or product suggestions.
  3. Tap Next to submit.

Once done, your valuable suggestion goes to our Product Development team to help improve your QBO experience. You can track feature requests through the QuickBooks Online Feature Requests website.

On the other hand, you can always press the Tab key on your keyboard to move from one section to another.

Moreover, you may run through the resources from this website for more hints while reviewing and categorizing your banking entries in QuickBooks: Categorize online bank transactions in QuickBooks Online.

Alternatively, you can create bank rules to streamline the review process.

Please let me know if you have other concerns regarding your banking data. I'm just a few clicks away to help you once more. Have a good one!

@TH76  RE: Customer service: do not post any of your canned articles...

Nice try, but as usual Intuit just posted a canned response.

Lol, I know, but there are some days that just put me over the edge.

We do use bank rules, but sometimes transactions have to have custom splits.  So bank rules do not help this at all.
