Why won't my amazon csv files show up after I import them?

I upload both the order/ shipment csv and the items csv, review them, and hit save but nothing happens afterwards. Can't see those transactions at all.

Why won't my amazon csv files show up after I import them?

Hi, rtreevemke.

Allow me to provide some additional information about importing transactions using CSV files.

Here are the following formatting restrictions that you'll need to check before you import the CSV file:

  • Special characters are not allowed.
  • Zeros (0) are not allowed anywhere in the file ($0 should be left blank)
  • Correct any transactions that display an amount in the Description column
  • Remove the word amount if it appears in the name of the Credit or Debit column (Credit amount and Debit amount are incorrect)
  • MAC users must save the file as a Windows CSV file
  • Correct and standardize the Date format to a single format (for example, dd/mm/yyyy)
  • Some banks provide the day of the week and include it in the Date column (for example, 20/11/2018 TUE in column A) which is not an acceptable format.

If your CSV file meets the do's and don'ts above, try importing it again. If the same issue, let's perform some troubleshooting steps to get your CSV file imported in QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) by accessing your account in a private window.

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: Command + Shift + N

Once signed in, import your transactions from there. If it rectifies the issue, go back to your main portal and clear its cache to remove the browser's history. You may also try accessing your account using another supported browser.

You might also want to check out this article to learn how to categorize transactions: Categorize and edit transactions in QuickBooks Self-Employed.

Kindly update me on the result of this troubleshooting in the comment below. I need to make sure you're able to see the imported transactions. I'm always here to provide additional assistance. Have a good one.

Hey TirzahC,

Thanks for the reply. None of that seemed to work for me. I can import the amazon files, review them, and when I click save it goes back to the transactions page but wont show any of the info from the Amazon import.

I know this hasn't been an easy process for you, rtreevemke-gmail.

Let me make it up to you by making sure this gets investigated.

I'd recommend contacting our QuickBooks Support Team. They're equipped with tools to check the cause of the misisng transactions It'll also allow them to submit a ticket to our engineering team to alert them about the issue if necessary.

Here's how:

  1. Go to the Assistant button at the top.
  2. Type Talk to a human.
  3. Click the send icon.
  4. You can select Message an agent or Get a callback.

To know their availability, please see our support hours.

Additionally, I've added an article that'll help you review your imported transactions to ensure they're added to the correct accounts and categories: Categorize Bank Data.

I appreciate your understanding on this matter. Please know that I'm determined to get this resolved.
